This is the biggest risk when it comes to cosmetic surgery. Blood loss is a sign of something wrong on the operating table, extreme blood loss leads to organ failure and eventually death of the patient although it does not occur in many instances blood loss remains one of the greatest dangers of cosmetic surgeries. Some clinics may have phony surgeons that may not be competent to undertake the operation, and they can cause damage on the operating table or even death of the patient.

Allergic reactions

When going for cosmetic surgery, a patient should know their allergies and if they may affect the procedure. Allergies may be as a result of the materials used during the operation such as the latex or the medication given to the patients. Therefore skin tests should be conducted on patients before they undergo any operation or procedures. If the patient thinks that they might be allergic to something, they should mention it to the surgeon before the operation.

Wound infection after surgery

This is a risk to most cosmetic surgeries, as more than one percent of the patients, depending on the type of cosmetic surgery being undertaken. Some signs of infections of the skin usually appear six to seven days after the operation has been done. Indicators of infection of the wound include pain around the wound, swelling and increasing redness. When infection persists, it may lead to severe illness due to the spread of infection in the bloodstream

Physical pains

This is one of the most popular problems associated with cosmetic surgery. Patients may complain of headaches, nausea, vomiting and prolonged pains. With time the pains may die away, but in very rare cases the pain may persist and the healing for patients may vary depending on the person. Some types of cosmetic surgeries may have more recurrent pain than others, nasal surgery, for example, may require a lot of alteration of the nasal cartilage and bone which causes more pain compared to other types of surgeries.
